Rainer Krug is associated Researcher at the University of Zurich, working on FAIR data management, meta data and associated workflows.
He was Chapter scientists for the Global Assessment (Chapter 4), responsible for coordination and management of large-scale literature reviews, database management, and graphic development.
Until 2017, he was affiliated with the University Paris-Sud, were he was working on projects modelling horizontal wind speed distributions. Before that, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cape Town where he was modelling age class distributions of plants and at the Centre of Excellence for Invasion Biology at the Stellenbosch University where he was involved in several projects simulating the spread of alien invasive species.
He received aPhD in Conservation Ecology from Stellenbosch University (Conservation Ecology and Entomology Department).
