I am an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics, the Head of Department for Agricultural Economics and Agri-business, in the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Buea, Cameroon. I am also the Director for the Centre of Independent Development Research – a Leading Think-Tank in Cameroon. I lecture and research on issues of rural agro-environmental economics. I obtained a Phd in Agricultural Economics from Georg-August University of Goettingen in Germany in 2002, and an MSc in Agriculture Land Use and Natural Resource Management from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Denmark. I am currently a research affiliate to the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS), Johannesburg, South Africa and the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (CEEPA), Pretoria, South Africa. I am recipient of research grants from IDRC (Canada), the AERC (Nairobi, Kenya), the CEEPA (Pretoria, South Africa) and the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), Washington D.C., USA. My research activities could be grouped into efforts aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities in rural and agricultural development challenges for Cameroon and Africa.
