 Fri, 17/11/2023 Anonymous IPBES Selected as 2020 WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award Winner English (396) The WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award announced on 22 May 2020, the International Day for Biological Diversity, that IPBES was selected as the recipient of its 2020 award, focused on the theme biodiversity, which also includes a prize of one million Swedish Kronor. IPBES was recognized specifically for the Global Assessment and the platform's "decisive role in outlining the drivers of biodiversity loss, communicating the magnitude of the problem and laying the groundwork for a new agenda and transformative change in relation to biodiversity."

 Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous Paper Cites IPBES in Case Study Seeking to Identify Link Between Potential Futures and the Values Underpinning Them in Protected Land Areas in Czechia English (396) Drawing on IPBES Methodological Assessment Report's "future thinking", an approach helping people to understand and tackle complex sustainability, this study aims to address the gap between understanding the scope of the root causes of human decisions and actions, and the link between anthropogenic drivers and their potential future impacts on nature in local regions. Through the design and implementation of a local-scale participatory value-based scenario building process, this study explores the relationships between (1) multiple types of values, (2) actions taken by different types of stakeholders, and (3) their potential impacts on nature, nature’s contributions to people (including ecosystem services) and good quality of life.  Wed, 19/04/2023 SBarudanovic Bosnia and Herzegovina Uses IPBES Outputs to Inform National Ecosystem Assessment Bosnian (26207) Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the coordination of UNEP-WCMC, and with the support of IKI, is carrying out a National Ecosystem Assessment that startes from the IPBES conceptual framework, with the use of key findings from a number of IPBES Assessment Reports - especially from the Europe and Central Asia Regional Assessment Report. Bosnia and Herzegovina strives to assess its own knowledge that is relevant for better informed decisions about biodiversity and nature's contributions to people.

The lack of relevant data and indicators encouraged the team, gathered from scientists from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, to think innovatively about the simple use of significant, but scattered knowledge. As a result, for the first time, they are talking about mapping NCP/ecosystem services, direct and indirect drivers and scenarios for biodiversity in the country.
