 Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous Following Global Assessment, Irish Wildlife Groups Call for an Independent National Parks and Wildlife Service English (396) In the week leading up to International Day of Biological Diversity on 22 May 2020, Irish Wildlife Groups including the Irish Wildlife Trust called for the establishment of an Independent National Parks and Wildlife Service.  Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous Microsoft Cites IPBES Global Assessment in Announcement of Funding for Shazam4Nature English (396) In an article announcing that Microsoft will fund the Shazam4Nature project, created at the EarthLab by Microsoft Berlin and Fraunhofer CeRRI, Microsoft cites key findings from the IPBES Global Assessment. According to Microsoft, the IPBES findings show that “we need to act urgently”. Shazam4Nature is an “acoustic biodiversity monitoring system that captures and records animal sounds through sensitive microphones, and evaluates the acoustic signals using artificial intelligence (AI) in the Azure cloud”. The project is a part of Microsoft’s AI for Earth program.
