Study on Belief-Based Nature Conservation Draws on IPBES Conceptual Framework

English
Researchers at the University of Greifswald have published a study titled “The Values of Sacred Swamps: Belief-Based Nature Conservation in a Secular World”, which draws on the conceptual framework of IPBES. The results of the study “underscore the importance of a focus on nature’s contributions to people’s quality of life in the new IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) conceptual framework that reflects the importance of socio-cultural relations between people and nature for nature conservation in a specific place (Diaz et al. 2018).”
