Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze stated that she would “appreciate it if IPBES ascertained the global level of knowledge on these issues, collated the information and made it available to policymakers throughout the world. The international community has the opportunity to adopt a new global biodiversity strategy after the pandemic – and thus to show that it has learned from the pandemics of the past."

 Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous Following Global Assessment, Irish Wildlife Groups Call for an Independent National Parks and Wildlife Service English (396) In the week leading up to International Day of Biological Diversity on 22 May 2020, Irish Wildlife Groups including the Irish Wildlife Trust called for the establishment of an Independent National Parks and Wildlife Service.  Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous IPBES Global Assessment Cited in Decision to Create the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service in Chile Spanish (399) GEF Montaña Project cites findings of the IPBES Global Assessment as key motivation in the decision to create the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service (SBAP), which will serve as a solution to prevent local species from disappearing. According to Jan José Donoso, head of the Natural Resources and Biodiversity Division of the Ministry of the Environment and director of the GEF Montaña Project, officials believe “that the creation of the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service (SBAP) will be a solution to the lack of concrete actions and lack of responses in the country, since we will have a public service dedicated exclusively to the conservation and protection of ecosystems and species”. The GEF Montaña Project is a project run by the Environment Ministry of Chile and the Sendero de Chile Foundation, with support from the United Nations Environment Programme.

 Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous At an Event Co-Organized by IPBES, Central Asian Experts form Common Programme to Solve Problems Related to Biodiversity Conservation, Land Degradation and Climate Change English (396) In Almaty, a trialogue was organized by the Kazakh Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources on the initiative of the UNDP in cooperation with IPBES, the Pollinator Volunteer Coalition, in partnership with the German Federal Ministry of the Environment and Nature Conservation. At the trialogue, more than 70 scientists, politicians and experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan developed a common programme to solve problems related to biodiversity conservation, land degradation and climate change.
