 Fri, 19/08/2022 Anonymous IPBES Global Assessment Cited in Decision to Create the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service in Chile Spanish (399) GEF Montaña Project cites findings of the IPBES Global Assessment as key motivation in the decision to create the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service (SBAP), which will serve as a solution to prevent local species from disappearing. According to Jan José Donoso, head of the Natural Resources and Biodiversity Division of the Ministry of the Environment and director of the GEF Montaña Project, officials believe “that the creation of the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service (SBAP) will be a solution to the lack of concrete actions and lack of responses in the country, since we will have a public service dedicated exclusively to the conservation and protection of ecosystems and species”. The GEF Montaña Project is a project run by the Environment Ministry of Chile and the Sendero de Chile Foundation, with support from the United Nations Environment Programme.

 Thu, 09/02/2023 Fernando Neda IPBES Global Assessment Findings Used in WEF Briefing Paper on Biodiversity Credits English (396) A new briefing paper by the World Economic Forum cites the 2019 IPBES Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, mentioning in its introduction that "Human activity is eroding the world’s ecological foundations. Over 1 million species are at risk of extinction, one third of the world’s topsoil has been degraded, forest fires are now more extensive and destructive than at any time in the past 10,000 years and 50% of the world’s coral reefs are destroyed."

The paper, titled “Biodiversity Credits: Unlocking Financial Markets for Nature-Positive Outcomes,” is the output of past months’ deliberation with the Working Group on Biodiversity Credits. The paper points out that biodiversity credits are part of a company’s nature-positive journey –an investment in nature’s recovery, rather than an offset for damages.  Tue, 18/10/2022 Fernando Neda IPBES Global Assessment Inspires Poetry Project Raising Awareness about Biodiversity Loss English (396) Stating he wants to use his work "to encourage people to create a sanctuary for life on earth,” poet Anthony E. Lovell founded The One Million Poetry project, taking inspiration from the 2019 IPBES Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Through poetry and visual art, the project aims to raise awareness of the one million species at risk of extinction and tap "into the emotional power of poetry to touch people’s hearts and encourage them to take action whilst there is still time."

Lovell "founded The One Million Poetry Project in collaboration with Ingrid Lung of The Earth Agency in response to the 2019 IPBES report that identified up to 1,000,000 species were at risk of extinction from human activity. The project seeks to collaborate with other artists, conservation organisations and corporations in support of sharing the earth with all species, recognition of other species (Great Apes, Cetaceans, and Elephants to start with), and the promotion of a ‘Sanctuary Earth’ world view."
