IPBES-5 Stakeholder Day

Stakeholder Day(s), open to all members, observers and stakeholders of IPBES, have been organized in advance of each previous session of the Plenary, as opportunities for a wide range of interested organizations and individuals to receive updates about the IPBES process, work programme and to discuss their engagement with IPBES through an informal exchange of views on specific aspects of the Plenary session agendas. As outcomes of these meetings, common statements and positions on key issues related to stakeholder engagement have been jointly prepared.

In keeping with this practice, a one-day stakeholder meeting was organized on Monday, 6 March 2017, prior to the 5th IPBES Plenary session (from Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 March 2017), at the venue of the Plenary session, the World Conference Centre in Bonn, Germany. More than 150 IPBES stakeholders participated in person, with many more joining via live webcast for the first time. The full recorded version of the webcast is available below, as is the detailed report on the stakeholder deliberations.
