Catalogue of Assessments

IPBES maintains and develops an online catalogue of relevant assessments. The catalogue is the basis for critical periodic reviews of the assessment landscape and lessons learned. It facilitates the identification of inputs to the thematic, regional and global assessments, supports knowledge exchange and helps avoid duplication of effort.

The catalogue of assessments was first developed and established by UNEP-WCMC in 2012, with that version still hosted by UNEP-WCMC. In 2017, the existing catalogue of assessments will be integrated into the IPBES web portal and the structure provided for the catalogue of policy support tools and methodologies. Once operational within the new web environment, the catalogue of assessments will include a searchable database of information on assessments of biodiversity and ecosystem services from the global to subnational scales, as well as links to relevant communities of practice.
