Description of Impact(s) (English Only) The Ramsar Global Wetland Outlook: State of the world’s wetlands and their services to people (2018) builds on the Land Degradation and Restoration Assessment (IPBES 2018), alongside the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (MEA 2005), the Global Biodiversity Outlook (Convention on Biological Diversity 2014), Global Land Outlook (UNCCD 2017), and The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (Russi et al. 2013) to develop an assessment specific for wetlands. Additionally the conceptual framework of IPBES in the valuation of wetlands and the contributions of indigenous and local knowledge systems are also cited.
