Solution of shrinkages of water bodies in cities by implementing city biodiversity index and BDES valuation
Water body shrinkages due to rural-urban migrations, unplanned infrastructure and residential building developments is one of the most severe problems in the cities of developing countries and emerging economies. It's destroying the ecosystem services and the biodiversities of the cities, creating huge disasters. How effectively the BDES valuation assessment of cities could provide urgent solutions to this problem? Could it be possible to make the City Biodiversity indexes (CBI or Singapore index) mandatory to implement for the cities while giving more stress to the indicators based on water-biodiversity-climate nexus?
