Brief description of contribution The project applied nature based technology of vetiver grass barriers to control the flow of nutrients and pollution to the Lake hence starving water hyacinth weed (Eichhornia crassipes) covering the water surface leading to its eradication. The project engaged lake side farmers and communities on landing site settlements through training in application of Vetiver Grass Technology (VGT) and extension services. The project established a Vetiver Grass nursery for the community to serve as a source of plant material.
