Extension of deadline: Call for further requests, inputs and suggestions regarding the rolling work programme of IPBES up to 2030

Dear IPBES members, observers and other interested stakeholders,
Following the announcement of the dates for the tenth session of the IPBES Plenary (EM/2022/45), the deadline for the submission of further requests, inputs and suggestions regarding the rolling work programme of IPBES up to 2030 (EM/2022/38) has been extended to 24 February 2023.
In decision IPBES-9/1 (section II, paragraph 10), the Plenary decided to consider, at its tenth session, requests, inputs and suggestions for a second global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services and an assessment on ecological connectivity, based on the initial scoping referred to in the same decision (section II, paragraph 9), as well as any requests, inputs and suggestions received in response to the call that will be issued in accordance with paragraph 2 of decision IPBES˗7/1.
Therefore, the Bureau and Multidisciplinary Expert Panel invite:
- IPBES members, observers that are allowed enhanced participation in accordance with decision IPBES-5/4, and multilateral environmental agreements related to biodiversity and ecosystem services as determined by the respective governing bodies of those agreements, to submit requests; and
- United Nations bodies related to biodiversity and ecosystem services and relevant stakeholders, such as other intergovernmental organizations, international and regional scientific organizations, environment-related trust funds, non-governmental organizations, indigenous peoples and local communities and the private sector, to submit inputs and suggestions.
Requests, inputs and suggestions should be submitted, using the submission form available here, by 24 February 2023
The Multidisciplinary Expert Panel and the Bureau will consider and prioritize the requests, inputs and suggestions in accordance with the considerations outlined in paragraph 7 of decision IPBES-1/3 (listed in the submission form) and prepare a report for consideration by the Plenary at its tenth session.
