All accredited media and IPBES partner organisations will receive online accreditation. This means that you will receive the report launch materials via email, under strict embargo, following the approval of each of the Summaries for Policymakers by the IPBES Plenary, but before the start of each of the report launches. You will also receive the links to attend the virtual report launches.

In-person accreditation is only available to media based in Namibia and includes all the online elements but will additionally allow media representatives to enter the venue for the launches.

No other sessions of #IPBES11 are expected to be open to the media.

Attention: By accrediting, you are agreeing to accept and abide by the date and time of the respective embargoes that will be placed on the materials. This means you agree to neither publish, air, nor circulate any of these materials in any form prior to the respective embargo being lifted. You may approach third parties for comment during the embargo period but only if they agree, in turn, to abide by the same restrictions. Failure to adhere to these conditions will result in journalists, media outlets or partner organisations being excluded from future IPBES embargo arrangements. Please note that the contents of all embargoed materials will be subject to change and must be checked against the final versions.

Members of the media are required to have a valid press card, or a valid media accreditation badge. If you do not have a press card (e.g., you may be a regular blogger but not a formal media employee), please instead submit a recent sample of your work in a subject area related to the work of IPBES.

Please ensure that you have scanned copies of your media credentials/sample ready when you start filling in the form as the system will not allow you to proceed without uploading these. Credentials/samples should be uploaded as a single file (pdf, jpg, doc, docx).

IPBES partner organisations are not required to submit credentials.

If the IPBES communications team approves your accreditation, you will receive an email with further information. Please note that due to the high number of requests, this may take a few days.
