The Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) conducted a two-year assessment of the status and trajectories of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Amazon region. Delving into multifaceted dimensions that include biological, social, cultural, economic and political aspects, the assessment used the IPBES methodology and conceptual framework. The assessment was conducted by 118 experts from the Amazonian countries, and is the first subregional ecosystem assessment following the IPBES conceptual framework.
