IPBES 10 Plenary: External review of draft task force terms of reference and workplans

Dear IPBES members, observers and other interested stakeholders, 

In notification EM/2022/45 it was announced that IPBES 10 is scheduled to be held from 28 August to 2 September 2023 in Bonn, Germany, hosted by the United States of America; information on registration was shared in notifications EM/2023/04 (members and observers) and EM/2023/05 (observer organizations); and further information on the preparatory process for IPBES 10 was provided in notification EM/2023/08.

As one of the steps in the preparatory process for IPBES 10, the draft terms of reference as well as the workplans for IPBES task forces for the intersessional periods 2023–2024, 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 are made available for review. Following the review, the terms of reference and workplans will be finalized and made available for consideration by the Plenary at IPBES 10, under item 8 of the provisional agenda on building capacity, strengthening knowledge foundations and supporting policy. In decision IPBES-7/1, the Plenary had decided to review, at IPBES 10, the mandates of the current IPBES task forces.

If you would like to participate as reviewer in this external review, please follow these steps:

1. Register as user of the IPBES website (https://ipbes.net/user/register) if you have not already done so;
2.  Apply to participate in the review at https://ipbes.net/registration/ipbes-10/review_of_task-forces_tor-wp (this will only work when logged in first as IPBES website user);
3. Once registered, you will immediately receive an email providing confidential access to the draft documents and will be requested to submit your comments in English using the template that is available on the same webpage.
4. All worksheets must be submitted by uploading to https://ipbes.net/add-review-file?d=49025 no later than 17 March 2023.
