We want to support increase of recognition of IPBES and create a sound ba-sis for well-informed participation in IPBES processes. Project partners are governments and relevant ministries as well as representatives of sci-ence and civil society. National and regional workshops will help to provide capacity building materials in English and Russian, train trainers and prepare for IPBES plenary meetings. After the workshops the project partners are well prepared to take an active part in IPBES processes in an informed and competent manner and to make use of IPBES assess-ment findings in environmental decision making in their respective countries. The project strengthens administrations' and civil society organisations' capacities and fosters international cooperation for the con-servation of biodiversity. |
