Brief description of contribution:
Based on Annex III to decision IPBES-8/1, I. Objective 2 (a), 4 - A Youth workshop to strengthen the engagement of young people in the work of IPBES and to support the uptake of assessments among young people, other individuals and organisations will be organized. Footnote: The workshop will target individuals representing youth organizations (working on the issues of biodiversity and ecosystem services) that have an active voice in their community. An open call, including selection criteria, will be issued.

The idea is not to explain content to the young, but to listen to the young, to harvest their motivations, concerns and ideas to incorporate them in IPBES work. This could be done by applying nature futures. Potentially, a contribution to the nexus and tc assessments can be envisaged, also the discussion of SUB and Values assessments is an option.
